POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The CAD Administrator / IT Administrator is a unique, challenging and rewarding position for a talented and driven individual looking to join a dynamic technical team. The CAD Administrator position will manage all aspects of our AutoCAD v2014 Plant Suite software, CAD-specific development, standards, block and spec libraries, customization, user training, and associated resources.
We also are expanding this position to include management responsibilities over our IT infrastructure, starting with system maintenance, user support, troubleshooting, server management, expansion projects, and system optimization.
Main project design duties will consist of developing 2D and 3D project drawings / models from conceptualization through installation stages. Typical projects include plant process / utility piping layout, modular skid design, equipment layout, structural support design, P&I/D schematics, and the associated technical documentation packages.
The ideal candidate comes from a background in mechanical CAD design, with some experience or education in server-based business IT administration and maintenance. This unique position is primarily CAD-centered to start, with expansion into a wider IT role as familiarity with our business and technology platforms increases.
Because of the diverse nature of this position, we are willing to provide training and education in the IT elements of the job to the right candidate. An eagerness to learn and an understanding of technical CAD and IT principles will help the right candidate stand out.
This position is full time with benefits available after a successfully completed probationary period. This is primarily an office position, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm including lunch. As required for serving our industrial manufacturing customers, travel, overtime, and field work is required.

Qualifications:
3 years' experience in a CAD role, electro-mechanical or similar
1 year experience in a CAD Administrator / CAD Manager preferred. On-the-job training is an option
1 year IT Administration experience preferred. On-the-job training is an option
Commanding knowledge and experience with AutoCAD v2010 or higher (Plant Design Suite preferred)
Commanding knowledge of drafting techniques including GD&T, electro-mechanical / structural / architectural annotation, fabrication and machine processes, weld symbols, and visualization styles
Commanding knowledge of server, workstation, and peripheral hardware and software
Design excellence with 2D and 3D solid modeling geometry for the mechanical and industrial disciplines
Knowledge of mechanical / industrial engineering, piping and utility systems a plus
Strong mathematical, communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Hard working, trustworthy, and dedicated to supporting colleagues
Extreme attention to detail and dedication to researching / confirming suitability of technical actions prior to implementing
Microsoft Office v2010 or higher suite experience
California valid driver's license and active personal insurance policy
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
