Summary:
Be a part of our new Swim Lesson Program that will provide our members of all ages swimming and water safety instruction.
In-Shape Swim Instructors will plan and deliver age-appropriate and skill-focused lessons based upon participant abilities.
The right individual enjoys working with people, is patient, inspiring and motivating.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Must be able to teach their own classes to the standards set forth by In-ShapeMaintain a safe environment through correct implementation of safety policies and proceduresEngage appropriately with swim participants of all agesEffectively communicate with participant parentsComplete program session trackers and distribute to participants/participant parentsEnforce and notify management regarding safety standards and identify potential hazards of the facilityMonitor and report equipment issuesEnforce all pool rules, regulations, and program standardsAdvise Manager regarding any need for discipline or ejection of member(s) from pool facilityComplete all records and reports (Member Incident Reports) as requiredHelp keep pool deck and facility cleanAssist in building our In-Shape community of members through a consistent member experiencePerform additional duties and responsibilities assignedRevised 06.

2022RequirementsREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS - HERE'S WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
High School diploma or GEDMinimum 18 years of age, or have graduated High School or equivalent certification of completion, due to insurance requirements in our clubsCurrent lifeguard and Basic Life Support certifications preferred; or must successfully complete In-Shape's Lifeguard Training Program (required to pass a basic swimming test (300 yard swim; 2 minutes treading water; 10lb.
brick retrieval at 7 foot depth); demonstrate rescue and lifesaving skills in (2) simulated emergencies; and earn an 80% or better grade on a written examination)Pass a basic swim assessment will be required as part of the hiring processMust be able to work mornings, evenings, and weekends; based on swim class schedulesPrevious experience helpful but not requiredStrong customer service skills working with children, adults, and seniorsFlexible/positive attitude in meeting and exceeding our members expectationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, work well under pressure and time constraints and displays positive behavior in all member interaction - from youth to seniorAble to follow written instruction and complete basic formsCurrent CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire dateBilingual skills a plusAttend In-Shape team meetings and trainings as requiredMust be Trustline registered; In-Shape will facilitate this upon acceptance of offer of employment or upon reaching the age of 18 if under the age of 18 the time of hireIN-SHAPE TEAM PERKS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day; sitting is seldom to occasional.
Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed.
Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements.
The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
During the COVID-19 pandemic:
All In-Shape Team Members may be required to assist with greeting members to perform temperature checks and health screens, ensure members practice physical distancing and monitor cleaning of equipment after each use.
Detailed instructions will be provided at time of hire.
In-Shape Team Members will be required to comply with company policies regarding the use of PPE (personal protective equipment), by following instructions and outlined safety guidelines, to protect our team and club members.
Club Safety training and equipment will be provided.
Team Members are to report to management, or designated team member, any safety risks or potential risks identified in the work environment.
